And you have to clean them regularly or they are worse than nothing. Not smoking indoors is even better than having a filter (if someone in the house smokes). Did you try Consumer Reports? A couple of years ago my doctor recommended I try an air purifier and after months of research I found a product that I have absolutely fallen in love with. I also found that my diet seems to affects my allergies but anyways check out Blue Air. I purchased my first unit my allergies have improved big time, I rarely sneeze anymore and feel like I get much more restful sleep. I think all the blue air products come with Hepa filters.
