What ban? That's a new one on me. If there is one, there you are right, more people ARE gonna get sick because of the germs lingering in the air.

First off, what ban? Secondly, if they are ionizing air purifiers, they release ozone, which at 35,000 feet is a good thing, but if it's in my house, it makes me really sick. Ozone is a chemical that can cause severe irritation, akin to inhaling ammonia. Some people think it's a fresh smell, others get really ill. If you are referring to regular old fashioned hepa or filter purifiers, then I don't know what the objection would be.
