My mom had used hers up until 6 months ago when she heard reports that it might be unsafe. She wasn’t experiencing any negative symptoms. In fact, it helped her respiratory condition. The IB commercials have also haven’t been airing on TV. Is there any truth to the rumors? She stopped using it for fear she might become sick. She almost died of pnumonia. Now she’s back to where she was sneezing and congested all the time.
So, I’ve got a little baby girl, and we just moved to a new house, and I was picking out air purifiers for the house (I have asthma, so I’ve always found it so much easier to deal with to at least have a purifier in my bedroom). ANYWAYS, my mom said that taking out all of the things floating in the air would discourage my babies immune system from developing by not exposing her to anything.
Is this true? Do you have any experience with that?

my mom sprayed some kind of air freshener and it got on my cd cover. i cant get it off. ive tried hot water, hand sanitizer, nail polish remover, and some kind of cleaner for eye glasses(also can use for laptop screens).
i have no idea what to use. please help!
I have an air purifier that I usually run because I live in a basement apartment and when we moved in, we had mold and stale air problems because the windows are very small and don’t provide much fresh air. My roommate says that the purifier makes the air dry and gives her nosebleeds but my mom says that it shouldn’t make the air dry at all. Which is it?
We have a de-humidifier as well but she doesn’t like to run that either because she says it also makes the air too dry and, again, gives her nosebleeds.
Well my cousin, his girlfriend and their kids all got a stomach virus.
It started with the two youngest ones, they we’re sick for a day, then the oldest brother got sick the next day. After that is was the mom. I came during the day she was sick, the next day my cousin was sick.
They would throw up… alot.
I was being like germ a phobic. So i got my sweater, made a mask out of the hood and used it for most the time i was their. I also got an air sanitizer OUST and sprayed it whenever i was going near them…
Im paranoid cause the idea of vomiting an getting sick like them scares me…
I would spray where im going to sit, the room they we’re in. I didnt SHARE ANYTHING.
So is it possible i will get sick??
my step dad wont stop and i cant get my mom to stop him from smoking in the house, if i buy an air ioniser or purifier for my room will it stop my room and my clothes from smelling like smoke?
well if i put it right in front of my door, will that help? his room is right next to mine
we both live in an apartment. my bf and our 15 mo old baby live in a room and his mom in another. she smokes alot in her room out the window with a fan, but it still lingers. can i buy an air purifier or sumtin? we’ve asked her to consider quiting but it seems like an impossible task.
I work for a small business that is owned by my mom. There are five of us that work in a very small office building, though we all have individual offices. The problem is that they are all smokers and I am not - I quit in October '05. I have no intention of starting up again, that is not the problem. The frustrating thing for me is the stench of their cigarette smoke on my clothing/hair. I quit smoking because it stinks so bad, but I still stink at the end of the workday!!!! My mom has agreed to purchase an air filter to help make the environment a little easier on my senses. I am just not sure what to go with and could use some recommendations. Would it be best to just get one for my own personal office, where I spend most of my day? or should we get one to filter the air in the room they all smoke in on breaks? Thanks!! PS: We have no windows that open, either.
Awhile back, there was a big hype about the ionic breeze producing ozone which is very hazardous to our health. But now they come with these new "ozone guards." I was thinking of buying one for my mom, but of course I wouldn't want her to submit her to ozone. Does anyone have factual evidence that these things are safe? Or should I just go with a noisey hepa filter?
