carpet and dust?

i have bad dust allergy and im allergic to mold im pretty sure its the dust causing my problems though..the carpet in my room has been neglected for years hasnt been vacummed in years untill recently ..no matter how much dusting and vaccuming i do theres dust particles in the air and dust build up on furinture begins almost instantly..i have a humidifier i have an air purifier with hepa filter and nothing seems to helps i feel it on my skin i feel on my hair..and i feel the urge to sneeze but dont since im on so many allergy medications..my question is the odds good that most of this dust coming from my carpet and its just to far gone…if i get rid of the carpet and put down hard floor do you think it would get rid of a good majority of the dust..i know its impossible to get rid of dust completly and carpets are just one of the problems but i can clean all the other stuff the carpet just seems like a lost cause, give me your thoughts

Looking For An Affordable HEPA Air Purifier?

i have bad allergies the main allergy that effects me is dust particles..my room is 108 sq feet…i currently have a honeywell 18155 i just dont feel it does that great of a job and recently my mother accidentally broke it so im looking for a replacement..i was looking at the honeywell 50250 which has good reviews but some people say its to loud to be in the room you sleep in and since i cant hear it before i buy it im skeptical…so im looking for an air purifier that is good for my size room doesnt cost more then 250 bucks and is low cost when it comes to maintenance and can really do a good job reducing the dust particles in the air

Will installing an air purifier reduce the amount of vacuuming needed?

I have two cats and some feather duvets. My doors and windows are almost always open. The house seems to be covered in dust, even after I vacuum. Cat fur and feathers fragments from the duvet cover surfaces right away. I really hate vacuuming, so I don't do it as much as I should. I even bought a roomba so that it could clean while I was at work, but I don't use it much because I still have to set up the room to be roomba-ed.

If I buy an air purifier, will it help make the house less dusty and furry and feathery between vacuuming sessions? Or does it just remove fine dust particles, pollutants, and pollens?
