Is there a vacuum out there it is a certified air purifier? I recently learned that vacuums blow out dust, even ones with expensive hepa filters leak some form of bacteria into the air.
I’m looking for facts only, not opinions. Sources preferred.
If you take a high power flashlight and shine it at the exhaust, you can see dust coming out. Even on the new dysons, orecks and kirbys.
I am thinking of getting this humidifier/air purifier/ioniser for my bedroom as my biggest concern is dust and itchy skin/throat due to dryness.
But was wondering, since i live in a humid country, Singapore, is it alright to be using a humidifier? will it cause too much ‘wetness’ increasing the growth of mildew, fungi and bacteria in the bedroom?
and what do u think of this product if you have used it.
My Mother-in-law has a boyfrined who has major OCD, it’s to the point where its not only effecting his life in negative ways but it’s also effecting her life. She is so wrapped up in not upsetting him and trying to make sure things are exactly the way he needs them to be that her world is getting smaller and smaller and it’s effected her relationship with her children and her grandchildren.
Her boyfriend’s OCD manifests it’s self in the form of obsessing over his cars, servicing his 3 cars and my mother-in-law’s car over and over again. He compulsively has to check the cars during the day and even in the middle of the night, it’s to the point that he can not hold down a job. He is also obsessed with germs, and conspiracy theories about the following: Mad Cow disease, chemical warfare, GMOs, and Bacteria created by the government. (super germs) This has gotten to the point that he will not eat my cooking because he believes I have too much red meat in my diet and therefore have Madcow disease.
Sadly all of the above has made my mother-in-law’s life hard, on her birthday we tried to go out for a "ladies nightout" thing and he called her every 15mins reminding her to use had sanitizer and use only paper and plastic cups because glasses at bars can be contaminated.
After that night he made her sleep on an air mattress for 4 weeks because he thought she might have brought something home, the problem is she goes along with it, and she does this all the time.
What is the best way to go about an intervention for her, how can we help her get out of this relationship and heal so that she does not get into another just like it? Please provide links if you can, thanks!
She has come to us for help, and she had confided in us that she feels trapped and she even left once but she feels guilty and always goes back.
I agree therapy is needed
My whole family has been sick for about close to three weeks now with bronchitis.I have cleaned when my energy has allowed me to (which isn’t much).I want us to get better. We are all on antibiotics and I use a humidifier, hand sanitizer to help apart from the constant hand washing, covering of mouths and tissues used.Today I decided to focus my enegry on my childrens room.I cleaned their room from top to bottom, stripped their bed clean, vacuumed and dusted off whatever I could dust off. Then I went back and blasted everything with lysol. Even the walls.I let it sit for a little bit and then I opened the window to air it out.My question is,do you think I did it right? What else could I do to get rid of the bacteria in the air?I’ve changed the heater filter and cleaned the vents the best I can.Unfortunately this house is the dustiest house I have ever lived in!Anybody have any ideas as to how I can beat the bug?
capricorn lol girl. we have been so sick i wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy!
I know air purifier uses UV light to kill bacteria, but the one air purifier I own is B&Y Air purifier is using something like Sterilization Filter. You can check out their technology http://www.byinternational.com/home_office_air_purifiers_BY750.htm
We have a cat and I will be having a baby this year. I will be placing one air purifier in the bedroom and the other air purifier in our computer area. This computer area is next to the bathroom that has the cat litter amd om the 2nd floor/loft. Our condo has vaulted ceilings. Thanks to all!

well, I’m just worried about the smell of cat litter and urine so I was thinking I should eliminate bacteria in the air for my new baby.
i am a student nurse.. i was clearing the things being used to a baby (20 days old), diagnosed with bacterial meningitis (specific bacteria, not identified yet). I was in a hurry when i was accidentaly pricked by a needle being used to the baby. I
I saw blood on my finger, i immediately squeezed my finger hoping all the blood being in contact w/the needle will come out.. i then washed my hands and applied sanitizer. Though i didn’t feel anything wrong in my body (yet), i am still very worried because some diseases like STDs can be easiy transmited by needle pricks.. i checked the internet, most says bacterial meningitis will be transmitted through direct contact w/patient (air droplets). None mention about needle pricks, u guys have any idea?

There are many models of little battery operated fridge air purifiers available, but there aren’t many reviews that I can find. These things ionize the air and create small amounts of ozone that are supposed to keep mold, bacteria and odors to a minimum. Are they worth buying or should one just stick with the old baking soda in the fridge standard?
Ok, so a box of baking soda isn’t the gold standard, but has anyone out there tried one of the fridge air ionizers?
