Air Purifiers

I need a good, cheap air purifier. What one would you recommend?

Also are these safe around babies?

People smoke at the house me and my girlfriend are staying at and our baby will be here soon. Will the air purifier help a lot with that?

So, I’ve got a little baby girl, and we just moved to a new house, and I was picking out air purifiers for the house (I have asthma, so I’ve always found it so much easier to deal with to at least have a purifier in my bedroom). ANYWAYS, my mom said that taking out all of the things floating in the air would discourage my babies immune system from developing by not exposing her to anything.

Is this true? Do you have any experience with that?

I am due on August the 12th and I live in LA. It gets REALLY hot around this time of year starting in July and ending maybe in early October. I am concerned because my bedroom and my babies bedroom is upstairs. We have an old house and priced an air condition system but it was just TOO expensive, the way our home is built we would have to have 2 seperate systems and pay double (one upstairs and one downstairs). My question is what other alternatives do I have? Right now, we are looking into getting a window air conditioner for my room (the baby will be in a bassinett) and one for his room as well. I’ve purchases an HEPA air purifier for the baby’s room and my room so far, but what advice can one give me keeping my baby cool at night while he will be sleeping (heat rises in our room). We can open all our windows, etc. But I don’t want my baby to get over heated during these summer months.

I have a sufficient charcoal/hepa filter air purifier,I don’t mix my own paint I don’t use turps or other thinners (I do use liquin) my colors of concern are the cobalts and cadmiums.Will wearing latex gloves and washing up well, not eating or drinking in the studio etc be enough?

In extreme cases of exposure what are the risks for unborn babe?

I am very early on in pregnancy, although art income is my primary source, I will stop painting while pregnant if it is just not safe.
I stopped painting with my first child, even after a blood tox. said there were no levels of lead or other heavy metals.

I am doing my own research but would love to check it against all of your imput and get as many oppinions as I can. ILOVE PAINTING, but I love my babies more!!

Is an Air Ionizer safe for babies?
I bought an air purifier with option for air ionizer, is it safe to use the ionizer with a baby in the room?
Will it have adverse effects on the baby or will it benefit him?
I only know that the purifier will help him because it will clean the air, I dont know about the ionizer.
