Air Purifiers

My one year old little girl has had a lot of problems breathing. She has been in the hospital at least twice because she has difficulty breathing. The doctors told us that she has bronchalitis. They will not diagnose her with asthma yet because she is too young. I have recently finished an environmental science class and with that new insight I believe that an air purifier will help her with breathing, at least when she sleeps. My wife is a little more skeptic on the issues. She doesnt believe that an air purifier will necessarily help our daughter. She is worried that the air purifier will put out more pollutants in to the air then it takes out. I have been looking into air purifiers with a three filter combination (pre-filter, carbon filter, and hepa filter) to maximize the purification. We will not be getting an ozone purifier or an ion purifier do to the chance that extra ozone will be put into the air from the purifier. Thank you for any help you can give.

I’ve got a dog and I’m suffering from asthma real bad. It’s really hard for me to breathe at night so i can’t sleep. I was wondering if anybody knows a air purifier that could get rid of dog fur in the air effectively

I have mild asthma and just wondering what would be more beneficial. I also have a computer which can make the room really hot at times.

like NYC? How do you handle it?

I’m just a very sensitive person health wise and mental wise, but at the same time I’m fast paced/and can handle the pace. But …I have asthma and get prone to being sick, and I’m going to be around much worse air, pollution, people everywhere, more germs, more exposure.

How do I handle that type of an environment, if I have to work/live there, but if I have asthma, and am prone to being sick more, etc?

Should I just up the prevention?

Meaning take more herbals, eat better, drink more water, carry more hand sanitizer?

What else can one do?

You can’t really avoid the bad air, especially during the summer!

Also anxiety wise let’s face it, NYC can be a scary place.More sharks, more competition, more people, more unscertainty, the whole terrorism aspect. Alot of it.

How can someone handle this city mentally and also health wise, and not let it destroy you?

I live in NJ so it’s not that far away and I can handle alot of it, and I can handle NJ, so NYC isn’t really that far away but I want to be careful, because it just seems more dangerous in many ways.

It’s not a very healthy place.

He was mad at the beginning when I got the kitten because he said he felt left out, and 2nd best because he did not get to be included in picking out the pet but we were broke up at the time. 1 month later he says my kitten makes him very sick, and he has developed bronchitis from his allergies. My daughter and I both have allergies and suffer from asthma, we are o.k. I dust, vacuum daily, and put the cat in another room before he comes in, purchased a 2nd hepa air purifier, use allergen reducer carpet powder, febreze allergen reducer spray, and wash the cat every day. the cat doesnt shed much or jump on furniture either He told me to get rid of it or hell have to stay away because of his health, my daughter and I love the new kitten so I refuse to give it away am I wrong? Today I even offered to buy him Claritin and buy a cage to go outside to put the kitten in when he comes over he said no b/c he didn’t want to put his health at risk and he broke up with me. What should I do?

What is the best air purifier for removal of dust and odor? I have been looking at ebay and is almost convinced on buying ecoquest (with hepa, uv, ionizer, and ozone generator). The only thing that still prevents me fom buying this (9) is the ozone generator which can induce asthma. I am an asthmatic. Anyone with a good experience with a VERY GOOD air purifier? I can only afford <0 and does not consume much electricity, with low maintenance. Thanks.
