Air Purifiers

Is it okay to GoPed for short distances without an air filter?

  1. The air filter’s job is to clean the air, but the carburettor compensates for its presence. Removing the air filter or changing it for another will mean that the carburettor should be retuned.

If you run it without retuning it, the fuel/air mix will be too lean and the engine will run hot. Adding unknown material could reduce the effect, but that would still be a guess.

There’s a bigger risk of engine damage from lean running than from material entering the combustion chamber.

  2. Possibly, depends on where you are riding and what you are riding through. Just dont ride it and get another air filter.

  3. Go ped with out an ait filter? Does it even come with one?
I suppose it would be ok, hoewver it will be sucking in any dirt in the air, which will / can cause damage to the carb. and/or eventually the piston / sleeve.
better make a plan, even if it’s just covering the box with a cloth.
Ensure you fix it proper, as you dont want that sucking inot the carb either.
Good luck - oh, and get a filter!

  4. I wouldn’t do it., Any dirt particles that get in there may scratch your cylinder wall
