You should have reported it to your supervisor…working in the medical field, i know the process you are supposed to follow for an accidental needle stick, and it doesnt involve coming on yahoo answers…how do you know this baby doesnt have HIV or hepatitis? Just because its a baby, doesnt mean it cant have those things, they can be passed to baby from mom at birth…You need to report it and have the baby tested, and you tested…Meningitis should be the least of your concerns right now..
well bacterial meningitis is very serious. even if the chance of getting infected by pin prick is low you should talk to the consultant doctor and get it checked out

I would ask to be checked by blood work. Explain what happened, and how you got pricked.

Get tested by your doctor thats the only way to be sure you didn’t get the virus
