I know this souds silly but I have always used baby shampoo on my dogs. I originally got it because I didin;t want soap to get in their eyes. They do not smell. Actually they smell really good!

I use whatever they sell at Petsmart….. The fruity scented shampoo is what I use on my teacup chihuahua, and i use the regular stuff on my bassets.. Another idea is to get Febreze Air Effects to make the house smell pretty.
I don't know about a pet shampoo that lasts a long time but you can buy air sanitizer that lasts a while and it is called oust. I found it to work well.

I use cheap human shampoo on my dog, but I split it in half with water (my last dog had sensitive skin and straight human shampoo would make her itch). You can pick any sent that you like to make your dog smell nice. I agree that Fabreeze is a good investment, too. Another good product is a sprinkle carpet freshener by Arm & Hammer that is a room freshener and pet hair lifter. It is not made to smell nice, but it does. As a bonus to smelling good, it helps to lift shed hair from the carpet for easy vaccuming (I have allergies, and I feel great after vaccuming). Good luck!
