Can i tilt my mower on its side or no?

I tried answering back to some people who gave advise but my responses are not going through. Yes, we have about 14k miles on the car and the "Maintenance" light is on but everything is running fine. My husband thinks it might be the air filter and so he is trying to change out. The manual does not say how and he does not know how to un-install the old filter or even where it is.

Would it be possible to re use a air filter for my car, if I take it out wash it in the sink and put it back when it drys? Im tight for cash at the moment but I just read that a clean filter will help with gas milage, & I need all the help I can get with that.

I moved into a duplex a couple months ago. I have a electric ac unit and my heater is a gas unit. its central air. Recently it has been freezing up on me every time I turn it on. My dad said that its cause I havnt changed the air filter, but I cant even find a filter. I took the paneling off of the heater/ac and I also unscrewwed the biggest vent and I still cant find a filter. Any help on where it might be?
