  1. yeah i have heard you want one with a hepa filter and one that can adequately handle the size room you are cleaning. i have looked into them myself and they are very pricey to have one that’s effective.

the link below has some good ones with ratings!

if you don’t want to spend that much then get a cheaper one, its better than nothing. however, you may need a few of them to clean a small space adequately!

  3. I also have an ionic breeze I bought from Sharper Image, I have only had it for 1/2 a year but I have noticed a difference in the air and from cleaning it I could SEE it was working! I have terrible allergies and with the ionizer plus other practices I am basically allergy free at home.

  4. Some of the air purifiers work by creating ozone which is in essence O3 a very reactive triple oxygen molecule. It is what you smell after a lightning storm or when you smell a motor that is sparking. Ozone is so reactive it can destroy odor-causing organic molecules but it can also damage your own tissues and is considered a polutant. Why on earth they would be allowed to make and sell them I have no idea. The best bet is a purifier that works by filtering the particles out of the air so buy one that moves the air through a filter. Ozone would be OK if you only ran it when there was nobody home (including pets). A hydroxyl ion would be an HO- group. Essentially water with a proton extracted H20 ==> H+ & -OH. The hydroxyl radicle would mean that another electron was stripped from the -:OH making it .OH ie a neutral moity with oxygen attached to a hydrogen with an unpaired electron. This would be an extreemly reactive group which also will react quickly to destroy organic compounds in the air and also your tissues:-)
