I’ll assume you are talking about a recent article that showed Ionic air purifiers are actually bad for you.
If so then yes. They produce Ozone. Ozone is great in the upper atmosphere where it helps block harmful radiation, but down here it is called smog. It is mot good to breathe. I am sure there are medical sites you could check to get truthful information, but for me it seems like common sense (Yes I had some in my home and now they are all turned off).
