actually for your car its every 15k miles, or major service. If you bought a K&N air filter you never have to replace it and it pays for itself. not to mention 2-3 more mpg…thats just my advice though
when the air filter has a bunch of dirt clung to it

rule of thumb is once a year or earlier if in a dusty environment. if you can’t remember when the last time was, then you should maybe change it.

as a rule of thumb I change mine with every other oil change (roughly 7,000 miles) I drive alot of gravel roads and if you drive all high way miles in a non dusty enviroment you could probably stretch it our to every 3rd. but it would be much easier to keep track of and eliminate it issues if you done it with every other oil change.

You should replace your air filter in your house every 3 months, or every 2 months depending on your allergies. I would suggest going with a "Pleated" air filter, not a fiberglass filter. The Pleated filter will give you better air quality, longer life, and a cleaner house.
